M&Js End of Season Review 2012
A celebration of the Minis & Juniors Season of 20111 - 2012
Referee Update September 2011
As usual with a new season there is updated guidance on Laws, new interpretations etc. It includes the following: 1. The Big Five key messages that the RFU want tackling in refereeing this season. It is part of the RFU website and there are good videos and help in how to deal with those key areas. They apply at all levels of the game and should help not only for referees but also coaches. http://www.rfu.com/TakingPart/Referee/NationalPanel/Big5KeyMessages2011_12.aspx 2. A flyer on Club referee development. For those who are qualified, I can get a refresh session done (chargeable at £5 per head probably) or arrange for people to attend a referee’s course. 3. A copy of the IRB memo on dangerous tackles that all coaches and referees need to be aware of. 4. A copy of the newsletter I get from the regional referee co-ordinator about key issues etc. 5. New RFU Concussion guidance. I have posted this on the website already but it is contained in the newsletter in full. It covers a duty of care on Coaches, Managers, Officials, Players and spectators about the treatment of players who have sustained knocks to the head. If you have any questions, please ask.
