Ken Holley gives his brief (for once) guide to the forthcoming trip to our French Friends at SCUF.

'FAIR STOOD THE WIND FOR FRANCE'

So said Michael Drayton (before my time -1563-1631) about Agincourt, and fair stands the wind for France now for the Paris Tour.

Eurostar and connecting train bookings have been made, and the main party will depart Warwick Parkway May 11th 9.15am - Marylebone arr. 10.29.
Eurostar Train 9024 Dep. St. Pancras 12.24 (check in at least 45 mins before) -Paris Gare du Nord arr. 15.47

Sunday Train
9051 dep. GdN 18.13 arr St. Pancras 19.30,
Marylebone dep 20.00 or 20.33 Warwick Parkway arr 21.33 or 22.06.

If you've paid a deposit, keep the money rolling in--you want to be on these trains and not miss the Rugbyfest. You don't want to miss out, and be as Shakespeare said 'Gentlemen in England now abed shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here'.

If you have not yet booked, don't worry; you can still go. Book Eurostar or flights independently and join up with the team in Paris.

When we have full details from the French, we will produce a programme with full times, itinerary, and travel directions in Paris. I know we will be playing as two years ago at the Stade Max Rousié (artificial pitch). Meanwhile check passports and, if you have one, EHIC card and see that they are still valid. EHIC cards only last 5 years, but can easily be obtained or renewed on line.

At the moment the Bureau de Change in Bell Court is offering a better rate than my bank for buying Euros with no commission.

There will be a training session for the team on Tuesday,May 8th, followed by a short tour briefing. Do come if you possibly can; tickets and tour t shirts will be given out then.

Finally the 'SCUF Rugby' web site Rose Cup section has a logo with a most offensive looking toothed chicken with a red rose in its beak. If any computer whizz kid can change this so that the chicken is being beaten over the head with the rose, or alternatively produce a bulldog with some chicken feathers sticking out of its mouth, it's worth a bottle of champagne from me!
