New Players Welcome
All new players welcome. Contact the Club at srfcminis@btinternet.com or feel free to turn up at a training session.
Mini Rugby at Strathaven gives boys and girls between the P1 and P7 ages the opportunity to learn about the basics of the game of rugby while having fun.
Strathaven Minis have over 50 playing members and are always looking for new additions to our squads. We travel to many other clubs to play friendly games and host our own tournament towards the end of the season which runs from late-August to late-May.
P1s – 3s have lots of fun at training and play touch Rugby which is aimed at being non-contact. The coaches give the children a good grounding in running, passing and catching skills and they ensure everyone gets involved as part of the team.
Contact rugby starts at P4 and continues up to P7 as players hone their ball handling and technical abilities through weekly training sessions on Saturday mornings at 10am and fixtures against other clubs both at home and away. Players get a loan of a Club shirt for matches and everyone gets a game regardless of ability.
Most coaches are parents and all have necessary SRU training. All are really enthusiastic about putting what they can back into the game.
