We urgently need more staff to work behind the bar, especially during the day on Sat/Sun

Dear Club Member,
The Rugby Club committee is writing to you to make you aware of the fact that we currently don’t have enough volunteers to help out behind the bar. Our volunteers just now are spending an excessive amount of time at the club, which is not a healthy situation for SRFC. We must make some changes if we want to keep our friendly clubhouse open.
To move to a sustainable situation we have three options:-
1. Seek unpaid volunteers from within our membership
2. Seek paid staff from within membership or local community
3. Reduce the hours that the bar is open, for instance the bar would not be open at training.
Shutting the bar is not the preferred option and therefore we would ask all members to consider whether they could help the club by volunteering behind the bar. We will be advertising for some paid staff, but the amount of hours that paid staff are required, will be reduced if there are a greater number of club volunteers. Membership fees will also need to rise next season if the wage bill rises.
Volunteers must be over 18 years old and available during Saturday/Sunday daytime. A 2 hour mandatory training session is required before you can serve behind the bar. Some evening functions may be requested but this is not essential.
If you can help please contact Sylvia Campbell (strathavenrugbymembership@yahoo.co.uk) , Tel 07799148772.
If you feel that you can help but your current circumstances mean that you would need paid for this work then the committee will consider this. All wages are by bank transfer and there is no ‘cash in hand’ payment.
The committee hopes that with your help we can continue to develop the vibrant community rugby club that we all enjoy being a part of.
Best Regards,
The Committee
