All children from both age groups took part, enabling us to enter a squad of 23 children in the 7-a-side festival. We had siblings, mums, dads and friends who came along in their large numbers to cheer us on. And we gave them something to cheer about.

Due to the large squad, we effectively rotated after each game creating two teams. The festival took place on the Warriors training pitches where we competed against Carrick, Ardrossan and Marr. The boys and girls competed strongly and bravely in each game, ensuring we progressed through the pool stages.

Fortunately, our reward was to compete in the finals, staged at half time on the main pitch in front of 6000 spectators. We also formed a Guard of Honour to welcome the players onto the pitch.

We played against East Kilbride in the final and came off victorious. More importantly, the children had a fantastic day and demonstrated values and behaviour in keeping with the clubs expectations.

Glasgow Warriors Community Section looked after us, ensuring we went away enjoying a great day of rugby.
