MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Strathendrick Rugby Club has been in my life since 1995, as an aspirational 3rd XV player, a coaching dad, 2nd XV Captain, Vice President and 1st XV bench warmer. It is a great family club and I simply love it. Becoming President is a huge honour, if not a little daunting, not least because of the size the club has grown into. The values, behaviour and culture that Strathendrick RFC instils in its players from a young age are something we are rightly proud of and I hope to build on this in the coming year. As a first step, this bulletin will be one way of improving communication between the different sections of the club, helping us to behave as one team, one club. I have also been asking around for the top priorities we need to concentrate on, I’d like us to focus on 5 at the most and if you haven’t given me yours, send them in. The Committee will select the ones we feel have most impact, are appropriate and achievable and we will publish these in the next bulletin. As a flavour of what we have gathered so far, here are a few
- A team in every section from Minis to Seniors
- A 2nd XV
- A 5 year plan
- LED floodlights installed at Fintry
- Promotion back into League 2 for the 1st XV
- 4G surface at Fintry
- More social events that include all sections of the club
- More tours, including different sections of the club
If we all work together we can achieve amazing things, so let me or any committee member know what you would like us to concentrate on. We would like to make this coming season as successful as we can, whilst having a bit of fun and enjoyment on the way, and of course, playing excellent rugby.
Dave Beaumont
