It was a glorious day shining on Inchmacoble Park Sunday past, where Strathmore Sharks P4/5, were up against the strong visiting team of Montrose P4/5. Both team's started off well with some great offloading and driving forward with the ball. Strathmore edged out on to the wing with a superb catch from J. Cowan, running half the pitch to score the first try in the corner. Montrose came back strong with great counter rucking, allowing the ball to be passed through several hands before crossing the white line. Undeterred by this Strathmore came back bouncing strong, with power house L. Cunningham storming over several players scoring with ease. Strathmore scored again and again, leaving Montrose wondering what had happened. Half Time 3-1. Montrose took the kick off, and with words of wisdom from their experienced coaches at half time, Montrose drove over the line, twice within three minutes to tie the score. With seven minutes of play left, Strathmore tightened their belts, and started to work as a team again, great defensive lines and attacking with strong support. E. Duguid screamed up the line wanting the ball, receiving it from a perfect pass from F. Hill, diving over the line with style.
