It may not be everyone's choice of a holiday in February, but for Strathmore Rugby's U18s, they will have a rugby adventure which will stick in their memory.
Only 3 weeks ago Strathmore U18s were drawn against Orkney U18s in the District Cup Competition. After a few days of the team organisers pondering over whether they could fulfill the commitment, they decided to go for it!
As can be imagined, this is a costly trip for one game – involving local support from JP Coaches, North Street Dairy, Colin M Smith, Saddler's Bakers, M&S Richardson Newsagent, Strathmore Water and of course both Junior and Senior sections of the club.
It is clear that the boys will remember this experience in years to come in what has been a real challenge to make happen. Long serving coaches Colin Robertson and Les Coupar will manage the squad through the trip.
The squad depart Forfar on Saturday afternoon for the Aberdeen ferry, staying overnight in Kirkwall. They will play on the Sunday and return by ferry and bus through the Caithness area.
