Strathmore U16’s had a great start to the Midlands league Division two campaign with an impressive victory against Waid in Anstruther.
The Blacks travelled with only 14 players which made the challenge even greater, however, they played with some real determination and the team grew in confidence as the match progressed. To Waid’s credit they never gave up and made Strathie work hard not only for their points, but also in defence.
The Strathie did all the basics well, quick to the break down, good rucking, support play, tackling and trying to get the ball wide.
The try scorers were Holgate, Wilson, Farquharson, Mackenzie, Lawrie, Dyer and Baldie, Conversions were added by Wilson, Voice and Lawrie.
