Strathmore travelled south on Saturday to face Linlithgow, at Mains Park, hoping to end their pre season on a high.

The men in black started the game at a ferocious pace, showing tremendous aggression in both defence and attack.
Jamie Gardiner opened the scoring after some neat work down the blindside from his partner in crime, Fraser McKay. The second try followed just minutes later, as George Seymour latched onto a long, drifted pass to score in the corner on his debut for the club.
Leading 10-0 after ten minutes, the Strathie boys were showing no sign of holding back in their offensive play.
Great work from Blair 'primetime' Marshall gave the blacks excellent field position, resulting in McKay and Tim Malkowski to link up for the try of the game. The interplay between the fly half and his prop bamboozled the home defence and Malkowski was able to off load to McKay, who finished off the move to the delight of the travelling support.
With returning captain Stuart Gray, and the tackling machine that is Bruce Morrice disrupting the Linlithgow attacks, it looked as if the men in red were going to struggle to put any points on the board. They did however score in the last minute of the half to end the first forty trialling 15-5.
Strathmore began the second half as they did the first. After just five minutes of the restart, Kyle Mitchell and Chris Wright-Hider combined in the midfield for the latter to score his first try of pre season. 20-5.
This was quickly followed by a fifth try. Sublime work in the centre created space out wide for Connor Blackmore to wriggle through a few tackles to place the ball down over the line. Fraser McKay converted the score to put Strathie in a comfortable position at 27-5.
Linlithgow fought hard to get back into the game, but couldn't break down the black line of defence. The physicality of Bruce Morrice and Gav Dissell at the breakdown kept Strathie on the front foot even while in defence. Eventually the home side did break through to claim a consolation try, that would end the match and both Clubs pre season fixture list. Linlithgow 10, Strathmore 27.

A great performance and result for the Angus club, who have improved vastly in the last few weeks following the defeat to Linlithgow earlier in the month.
