After much discussion in the old farts corner it is believed that the try against Stobswell happened as follows:
received the ball in Strathie's 22, chipped it delicately over the opposition defence, sprinted through and caught the ball on the 10 metre line. Unfortunately the opposition full back stopped his progression with a solid tackle, but thankfully Murray was able to offload Sonny Bill style to the supporting Dave Cashley
. Dave side stepped the first covering winger and showed an excellent turn of pace to bring the ball into the opposition half. Again the Stobswell covering defence was solid and with the other winger rushing back Dave showed great composure as he drew the man and threw a floating pass to the advancing George Strachan
. With the Stobswell backs on his heels Heff sprinted forwarded and finished off the flowing move with a swan dive over the line much to the delight and disbelief of his team mates and the gathered support.
Note this story may have been recounted by George Strachan
after several beers and may not be entirely true...
