Strathie started by playing up hill and took the game to Ellon with a quick try from David Smith who sprinted over the line for a fine finsih. Despite losing Jamie Wilson to a yellow card Strathie defended well for the first half and took a slender lead into the break.

In the second half the men in black continued their dominance in the scrum and increased the pace of the game leading to a try from Jamie Wilson before a well taken try from centre James Kiely. Vice Captain Stewart Ross crashed over for the fourth try to secure the bonus point. Some weak defence in the final ten minutes allowed Ellon to come back into the game but the men in black can be happy with a well deserved 5 point win.
