We are sad to announce the passing of Les Black

We have recently been advised Les Black passed away in November, following a Stroke. He was 73 years old. Les joined Streatham-Croydon in around 1971 as a playing member. He also did a great amount of work for the club off the pitch, notably the Christmas raffle, 250 Club, 1st team kit manager and as Club Steward between 1994 and 1997. Les was elected as a vice-president of the club in 1986. He was a proud Evertonian and returned to live in his native Merseyside in 2007. He enjoyed long walks along the coast and managed to combine this with his passion for real ale. Les regularly followed his local junior club rugby, but his heart remained with Streatham-Croydon and he always made a point of watching a match at Frant Road during his trips down south. Rest in peace our friend.
