MARK PINNEGAR LUNCH 18TH FEBRUARY 2017
Older members of the club will remember a time when three Pinnegar brothers played for the first XV and it was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Mark, at such a young age, earlier this year.
Not only did Mark play for the club but he helped with the coaching for our ladies team which was doing extremely well at the time, travelling all over the country in the National Leagues.
Work took Mark to Ireland where he settled, and he was involved in a road accident some years ago which he was lucky to survive, but he never lost touch with the club and maintained many of the friendships he made whilst in Sudbury.
Mark left a widow and two young children and Simon Rogers one of Marks team mates has rallied the troops and started a fund to ensure financial security for the family. Sudbury Rugby Club has dedicated the lunch on the 18th February 2017 to help and £5 of the ticket price will go direct into the fund. There will also be an auction of rugby memorabilia, Jason Leonard has promised his 97 Lions Tour blazer, Colin Pinnegar his Wasps / England shirt, use of a holiday cottage in Ireland for a week and many other pledges have been made.
The auction will not be restricted to those in the room and the club will be accepting on line and telephone bids on the day. Details will be published later.
Tickets for the lunch are limited so book early to support the family of a valued club member.
