Board statement

Board statement

Neil Murrall14 Jun 2013 - 13:26

Please see below a statement from the board of directors of the football club.

Following the most recent board meeting when the directors considered all areas of activity of the club and the current financial shortfall that exists together with the plans for ground and clubhouse improvements, it was decided to increase gate admission prices for the forthcoming season.

The list of things that the club needs to do or would like to do is extensive and includes clubhouse refurbishment to both function room and members lounge, replacement of clubhouse air conditioning system, improve and modernise the bar areas, refurbishment of dressing rooms, new and additional seating around the ground, improved facilities for disabled spectators, and various other maintenance work including fencing repairs, repointing of walls, etc.

Clearly the increased admission charges were only going to be part of the financial plan to fund this work and put the club on a sound financial footing.

In view of the reaction to the issued notice of admission prices for next season, the board of directors have reconsidered the position and have agreed that the gate prices for the season 2013-14 will NOT be increased from last season's charges. However, the impact of this is that the club will have to review what investment it can make in respect of the plans outlined above.

Admission prices for 2013-14 will therefore be £7 adult, £4 senior (over 60 years of age) and children under 16 will be admitted free of charge. Season tickets are available for league fixtures only at £90 for an adult (which represents a cost per game of £4.30) and £55 for a senior (£2.60 per game). We would hope that more supporters will see what good value a season ticket is and continue their support of the club by purchasing a season ticket for the coming season.

The board would like to host a supporters forum before the start of the season when those that attend will be able to ask questions directly to the Chairman and other directors and officials of the club. Further news on this will follow and a date confirmed as soon as possible.
