Royals head to Notts

The Royals head to Nottingham on Tuesday to face Carlton Town Fc looking to stay at the top of the table. Carlton have surprised many with their indifferent start after being tipped by many to be amongst the top 6 teams in the division and this was something Royals manager Neil Tooth was fully aware of when we spoke with him this morning.

“Don’t be fooled by their start” Said Tooth, “I know a lot of their players and they are under performing at the minute. Tomorrows game will be one of our hardest so far and we wont be taking them lightly. I fully expect Carlton to pick up points and start moving up the table and they will want to build on their win against Brigg on Saturday. They have some very good players and im sure once they all click they will go on a run but hopefully that will start after tomorrow.”

Tooth was full of praise for his unbeaten side but not has not been completely happy with their last two performances. “We didn’t really get going on Saturday and just seemed to go through the motions and do just enough to win. That happens but what we must make sure is that is doesn’t happen continuously as we will get found out sooner or later. I couldn’t have asked for anything more from my players after our start and I think we deserve to be unbeaten and we all want to keep it going for as long as we can but we are not daft we know we are going to lose some games along the way and as long as we stay unbeaten it gives every side playing us a little more incentive to turn us over. Our next 5 games are Carlton, Goole, Coleville, Leek and Stafford Rangers all teams id say will be up there come May so we will see how good we really are over the next few weeks”.

Kick Off Tomorrow is 7.45pm
