1st set of players commit for next season

Royals manager Neil Tooth today confirmed the first batch of players that have agreed terms for next season.

Lee Evans, Lewis Gwilliams, Andre Gonzales, Tom Turton, Reece Leek & Danny O'Callaghan have all agreed terms for next season and Tooth had the following to say,

"I spoke with the first set of lads last week and ill be speaking to the rest this week. We are a week or 2 behind after the play offs and then the presentation so its important that we get things sorted by the end of this week really. Iv said all along that we need to bring 4 or 5 in and I have spoken to 4 of my targets but the main focus is securing the lads that did so well for the club last season. Most of them have been approached by other clubs and rightly so as they showed their worth last season but im hoping we will have the majority of last seasons squad sorted by the weekend and then a few additions added to that. As I say every season im in no hurry as players will become available late on as they always do so we just have to sit and be patient."

2 players leaving are Jamie Sheldon and Dion Donahue and Tooth had the following to say, "Jamie has had a better offer from his former club Stratford so he is going there and Dion looks to be moving back into full time football so we cant compete with that. Im gutted to lose both but its football and players have to do what's right for them. They were both instrumental in our success last season and I wish them both the best of luck at their new clubs."

More news on signings will be posted as soon as we get it.
