NPL Academy with Education provider BMET College

The Club is delighted to announce this new venture in conjunction with the NPL and BMET College.
We are very pleased to advise that our 1st team coach Carlos de Azevedo has been appointed the Club's Head of Football Development and will be directly responsible for the coaching, training and team management of the 20 students who will study in our Academy starting from the next academic year in September 2016.
Carlos has been involved with the 1st team for a few years now and is a UEFA "A" licensed coach and has also previously played and been involved with top Portuguese side Benfica.
With him at the helm the students are assured of a very high quality of football coaching.
The students will be based at Coles Lane where they will have their education in the classroom at the ground and will play all of their football on the 3G pitch in the main football stadium whether it be training and coaching or home matches in the NPL Football Academy League.
Having worked with BMET Sutton College for the last 5 years we know just how good the quality of education is that they provide and they will be totally responsible for delivering this here.
The students will study in a 2 year programme for a BTEC in Sport level 3.
With this new initiative there will now be at least 60 students who are studying and playing under the Club's name and this new venture is an addition to the whole Youth programme at SCTFC not replacing any existing part of it.
It is very encouraging to see how well the 2 College sides are performing in the Conference Youth Alliance and NPL Academy leagues this season and shows the benefit of the facilities and coaching at Coles Lane.
There is an open football taster session at Coles Lane on Monday 15th February 1pm- 3pm. Full details are on the attached flyer and details have already been advertised elsewhere.
We are very excited by this new initiative and the whole youth programme which is starting to gather pace including our own U14s, U16s and U21s sides who also train and play on our 3G surface.
For more details please contact the Club or visit the NPL website as directed in the flyer.
