2017/2018

The Club's U18 Juniors have been competing in the Midland Floodlit Youth League (Eastern Division). The MFYL is widely recognised as the highest level of youth football outside of professional academies.

Sutton finished the season as runners up to Leamington FC and had an impressive league record of Played 20, Won 17, Drawn 1, Lost 2, scoring 96 goals during our league campaign.

To finish runners up was a tremendous achievement, as Sutton's squad comprised solely of U17 players competing in an U18's league.

We are optimistic that the team will be promoted to the MFYL Premier Division next season and we will hopefully be given the opportunity to represent the club in the prestigious FA Youth Cup.

The development of the squad has been recognised both internally and externally.

No fewer than 8 of the squad represented Birmingham County FA during the course of the season and 7 represented the Club at U21 level.

The biggest accolade fell to Max McNulty, who represented the Club at 1st team level in the Evo Stik Northern Premier league, a great personal achievement for Max but more importantly a recognition of the talent within the squad.

Off the field the squad have been an absolute pleasure to manage, displaying a team spirit and togetherness that makes the job for myself Darren and Brad very easy.

As always, we started the season with the same objectives; 1) To enjoy our football, 2) To develop as players and people, 3) To be recognised internally and externally, 4) To win a trophy.

We didn't win anything this season, but to be fair it was 4th on the list!

Adam.
