SUTTON COLDFIELD TOWN 2 v 2 LOUGHBOROUGH DYNAMO

Sutton went from being fairly comfortably in charge of this game to going behind and looking to loose it to getting back on equal terms. A five minute burst just before the end of the game saw Sutton coasting along one goal ahead and having the majority of the chances to being behind with a goal in the 78th minute and 80th minute. It was a goal from Dean Rathbone that rescued the game in the 83rd minute.

Sutton were very comfortable in the first half with both teams playing good football the chances were coming and it was no surprise when Craig Marshall was brought down in the box and took the penalty himself. He fired the shot straight at the keeper but followed up to volley the rebound home.
Sutton nearly went further ahead when a good cross eluded the defence but Joey Butlin was just unable to make contact

The second half saw Sutton take even tighter control and Matt Dodd pulled back a great ball to Marshall but he could not get enough on the ball to trouble the keeper. Nick Dodd could have increased Sutton’s lead when a corner found him at the far post and had an open goal but headed the ball wide.

All the pressure Sutton were having led to them being hit on the counterpunch when in the 78 minute a cross from the right found Mitch Williams at the far post and he was able to fire home unmarked to equalise.
Sutton found themselves behind 2 minutes latter when they were again caught on the counterpunch but this time it was a ball from the left which reached Jacob Blackwell and he volled home a great shot giving Niall Cooper no chance in the Sutton goal.

Within 3 minutes were back on equal terms when across from Dodd, who had tormented the Loughborough left all the game was met by the head of Dean Rathbone and he made no mistake.

This was a good game between two teams wanting to play a passing game and Sutton were probably a little unfortunate too only get a draw giving that they had the large majority of the attacking play.
