Hereford made the long trip to Sutton for today's cup fixture. Both teams were evenly matched early on but as the game grew Sutton started to create the better chances with the Hereford keeper in fine form making several superb saves. But Hereford were dangerous on the break and it needed Suttons keeper to be on his toes to make a couple of key saves. Late on Hereford managed to get ahead at the halfway stage otherwise a fairly even half.
The start of the second half started in spectacular fashion, after a few minutes in to the 2nd half a Hereford player unleashed a shot from 30 yards that fired in to the top corner, an unstoppable strike. As Sutton tried to push on to get back into the game Hereford lied in wait and countered brilliantly to get a third. Sutton were given a lifeline when Harrison was pulled down in the area where Reegan slammed home the penalty to make it 3-1. Sutton pushed on, camped in the Hereford half but as soon as play broke down Hereford found more spaces to exploit and clinically finished their chances to kill the game off. Hereford went home happy 5-1 winners.
