Ex Staggs star Andy White's debut hat-trick put an end to Sothwell's unbeaten start to the season to leave Snipes manager Dean Short estatic. Short was full of praise for 32 year old White who with the help of Craig Stanton ripped Southwell apart.
The game was pretty even for the first 30 Min's with both sides striving to find an opening and on 34 minutes the Snipes did just that. With Southwell pressing Sutton dealt them a sucker blow with a lightning counter that left Southwell dead on their feet..
Craig Stanton picked up a loose ball and his lightening pace took him a further 30 yards up field as he maized his way past Southwells midfield and from the right flank his ball inside fell straight to white, his first touch took him past the defender, and he left Southwells keeper standing has he rocketed a shot into the top left hand corner of goal.
His second came just past the hour mark. An interchange of passes between Jake Eggington and Stanton the latter found White who took 2 or 3 touches to get himself into the box and again he let fly with another good shot which flew into the top right corner of goal.
Just four minutes later his hat-trick was complete as his bullet header from Nathan Hollingworths corner left the keeper standing. Five minutes later, White thought he'd scored a fourth, From another cross a looped his header over the keeper the ball hit the right hand upright and looked to have tricked over the line before being cleared but the ref wave play on despite remonstrations from the Sutton players..
With the points in the bag Sutton took the foot off the gas allowing Southwell a consolation goal just prior to full time.
