Pedlars go Dutch at Holland, eight goal thriller.

Certainly a game for the spectators, the home-side turning around a three goal deficit after thirty three minutes, the Pedlars fortunate to pull back the equaliser. The Pedlars looked to have wrapped up the tie in a seven minute pounding of the Holland goal. Luis Duarte opening the scoring in the twenty seventh minute, great work by Matthew Prudence on the right hand touchline, pulling the ball back and crossing for Duarte to pick his spot and fire home to the top right hand corner from fourteen yards. The second another assist by Prudence, well worked out of the Pedlars defence, Prudence crossing for Alex Vincent to side foot into the left hand corner from twelve yards.. Vincent claiming his second two minutes later, Matthew Gilchrist clearing high and far for Vincent to run onto and lob the on-coming keeper from twelve yards. Holland got one back three minutes before half time, but Swaffham had definitely taken charge and were in the controlling position.
Holland started the second half the more aggressive and pulled one back on the hour. Then equalised in the sixty eighth minute and took the lead with nine minutes to go. The tables turned and the game of two halves not looking good for the Pedlars. The last goal of the game came on the stroke of time, Holland unable to clear their lines from a free kick launched deep into their goal area. Danny Tindall picking the ball up on the left touchline and lobbing into the right hand corner of the net. Enough to claim a point but the reality that it was Swaffham's game to claim.
A busy week ahead, Tuesday evening, second in the League, Whitton United visit Shoemakers Lane and next Saturday the Pedlars take the trip to top side Woodbridge Town, both confirmed promoted.
The Reserves were at home to Hempnall and came off in second place, Danny Nichols the Pedlar scorer in their four one defeat, their run of good results taking a tumble. Next Saturday they are at home to Earsham, three fixtures remaining in their busy season.
The Under 18's remain in pole position to take the Thurlow Nunn Youth North Division Champions title, one game to play mid-week on Thursday away to Aylsham with the intention to complete the League unbeaten. They claimed all three points at home on Thursday evening with a ten nil thumping of Horsford. A hat-trick from Korben Willis, Charlie Dye, Jack Prentice, Nathan Ward, Connor Germaney, Sam Carter, Kieran Bruce and Harvey Neal each contributing a goal each.
Back at the Lane last Sunday, the Veterans had a ten goal thriller of their own. Honours even with Costessey Sports, five a piece in the end, the mature Pedlars being three nil up at one point in the first half ! James Chapman and Joe Sisto adding to a Keith Rix hat-trick to make up the total. Sunday they are away to Mattishall Wanderers and next weekend they are away to Mundford Exiles.
