Pedlars on fire with a magnificent seven

League action away to Wisbech St. Mary couldn't have started better for the Pedlars, a goalmouth scramble in the second minute, Ryan Pearson firing home from close range. Six minutes later Joe Jackson played through to shoot across the keeper from twelve yards into the right hand bottom corner of the net. Number three came by way of Tommy Hunt, striking from fourteen yards into the top left hand corner. Jackson bagged his second in the thirty fourth minute, firing in off the cross bar from sixteen yards. A comfortable forty five minutes for the Pedlars, the strong wind against them but not having an influence on the game.
The woodwork having an impact on goal number five in the fifty sixth minute. Alex Vincent with a free kick just outside of the box, right hand side. A low drive past the wall, hitting the left hand post, crossing the goal to hit the right hand post, Pearson running in to convert from two yards. Vincent getting his reward two minutes later, Aidan Sewall crossing from the right hand wing, the keeper fumbling the ball in his attempt to catch above his head, Vincent on hand to head home from three yards. The final Pedlar goal came with fifteen minutes to go, a corner not cleared to safety, Vincent crossing back into the box from the right, Matthew Gilchrist mopping up at the back post.
A tough top of the table clash at home next week where second place Mulbarton Wanderers visit Shoemakers Lane.
The Reserves clinched a vital three points at home to Earsham. Tough opposition but goals from Kurtis Calaby and Sary Rahma nailing the two one victory and maintaining their position, top of the Hadley and Ottaway Division Three. No game for them now until after the Christmas break.
The Under 18's will also welcome Mulbarton Wanderers to Shoemakers Lane this Thursday evening, their last game before the League winter break, they will then continue their competition in February.
The Veterans finding it difficult to turn their League results around, a six one defeat at home to Hethersett, the consolation goal converted by Alan Palmer from the spot. A tough game at home next Sunday, the battle of the A47, Necton looking to get the bragging rights.
