Pedlars bounce back to winning ways

Following their Boxing Day disappointment the Pedlars returned from the Wardale Williams Stadium on Saturday with all three points returning them to the top of the Thurlow Nunn First Division, Woodbridge and Whitton with games in hand behind them but points in the bag are more precious.
The strong wind not assisting either side making playing conditions difficult, Swaffham competing for the first time this season on Sudbury's 3G pitch, the jury out on it's comparison to playing the game on grass. Swaffham the upper hand in the first half but unable to convert, it took until the fifty fifth minute for the deadlock to be broken. Matthew Blackford standing strong on the right wing playing a cros ball to Pedlars Captain Alex Vincent. Vinnie striking from the edge of the box, leaving the keeper standing, the ball ripping into the top right hand corner of the goal. The second coming with six minutes to go, Luke Reed playing the sweetest of through balls, inch perfect for substitute Kieran Bruce to run on to, cleverly held up to adjust his stance and strike home from twelve yards. Pedlars Under 18, Bruce on his second appearance from the bench for Swaffham. The home-side claiming one back with two minutes to go adding pressure to the conclusion of the match but the Pedlars held firm for the victory. Next Saturday they travel to Needham Market Reserves who are treading water at the other end of the table but recent results show they are more than capable to achieve results.
The Reserves are back in action next Saturday with a home fixture against Hemsby, eager to re-start their season and display their continued form.
