Last game of season next saturday

The Pedlars were unable to keep up their recent form with a two nil defeat away to Long Melford. The best chance falling to Captain Alex Vincent, bringing out the best in the Melford keeper. A free kick from twenty four yards, centre of goal, Vincent clearing the wall, the ball dipping to the left hand top corner, Moyes in goal at full stretch to tip the ball over. Once again Swaffham playing the cleaner and crisper football but the opportunity to finish evading them.
A huge final game at Shoemakers Lane next Saturday, the Pedlars host FC Clacton who themselves have found form, both sides facing relegation but the chance to jockey for the higher finishing position, may be the difference in survival !
The Reserves picking up a deserved point at home to Fakenham Reserves midweek but unable to salvage any points away to Norwich CEYMS on Saturday. Kurtis Callaby getting their goal in the two one defeat. There season now complete, a respectable finish for the Pedlar Reserves.
All to play for on Thursday as the Under 18 season finishes in the most exciting fashion. Dereham Town visit Shoemakers lane for a winner takes all game. Dereham were held to a 1-1 draw last week away to Horsford, Swaffham won away to North Walsham. The Young Pedlars were three one down at half time to come back and win seven three. It must have been an inspiring pep talk delivered by Managers Paul Hunt and Sam Loomes, I am pleased that I wasn't there to witness it ! Scorers for Swaffham, Sam Carter, Cameron Lee, Nick Castellan, Matthew Blackford, Connor Germaney and a brace from Jake Slender. Kick of 7.45pm, please come and get behind the Pedlars in what it sure to be an exciting and entertaining fixture.

Finally we need to report that disappointingly, once again there has been some mindless vandalism at the Football Club. The fascia, signage and sponsor details were ripped from the dug-outs adjacent to the pitch and strewn across the field along with discarded cans and fortunately this time, plastic bottles. Further litter has again been abandoned across the Myers Playing Field. The damage was first discovered by Committee Member and Club Volunteer, Tim Palmer when he cut the pitch Thursday morning. Apart from the cost to repair the damage and replace signage, it takes valuable time away from the few volunteers at the Club that could be doing other things to improve the experience that the Club can provide to the community. We urge that everybody keeps an eye out for any unacceptable behaviour in the area and report it to the Police via 101.

Many thanks in anticipation,

Regards

Ray
Secretary STFC
