8 wins in the row

Six of the best keep the Pedlars winning run going

Eight consecutive wins move the Pedlars into second place in the Thurlow Nunn First Division, Saturday's six one defeat of Norwich CBS providing those spectating a demonstration of clinical football played by a team that have gelled into a formidable unit. Ryan Pearson opened his account in the ninth minute, Joe Jackson playing him through, shooting across the box, going in off the left hand post. The visitors looked a threat, playing long balls over the back four but their kick and run tactics not enough for a consolidated defence. The second came eight minutes from the half time whistle, Luis Duarte driving home a spilled ball from fifteen yards, low and hard to the bottom left hand corner of the net. Two goals a good buffer to go into at half time, but there were clearly more goals in the game, who scored first would no doubt be critical.
The Pedlars on fire, awarded a penalty, Pearson brought down in the sixtieth minute, a stone wall penalty which he dispatched leaving the keeper no chance. Joe Jackson made it four just three minutes later his goal-ward shot taking a slight deflection ensuring it passed the keeper. Norwich CBS clawed one back in the eighty third minute but substitute Matthew Blackford put the game to bed on the stroke of time, turning and wrong-footing the keeper from eight yards. The icing on the cake in added time, Pearson getting his hat-trick, curling a shot into the top left hand side, deserving the presentation of the match ball, but not taking anything away from a great team effort. Next weekend the First Team travel to Little Oakley, a new venue for the Pedlars to visit.
The Reserves returned from Freethorpe with a well deserved point, Alfie Brindle providing the goal in the one one draw. Next weekend second place Gorleston Reserves the visitors to Shoemakers Lane, a top of the League battle, the Pedlars now in fourth position.
The Under 18's retain top place in the Thurlow Nunn Youth North Division following their eight one drabbing of Easton & Otley College. Hat-tricks for Korben Willis and Tommy Hunt, Kieran Bruce and Sam Carter providing the additional contributions. At home this Thursday, they take on sixth place CSF Canaries.
The Veterans are propping up the Leathes Prior Division one losing nine nil to top of the League Cottage. Next Sunday they travel the short distance to Necton for the battle of the A47. The Pedlars coming out on top in the first meeting and hoping to do the double over there old rivals.
