Swansea Spartans pre-seasons preparations continued on Saturday 8th Sept with a visit to Bath to play against Bath Buccaneers. A very good quality match resulted in a 2-0 win for the Spartans.
The squad have been training twice a week for the last month and Saturday’s fixture followed two previous friendlies played against South Wales League Premier Division teams Gwent and Cardiff Met.
Training now continues twice a week and a further pre-season friendly has been arranged against ISCA (Exeter) on Sunday 16th Sept pushback 12:00. Additional matches are anticipated against Oxford Hawks and Penarth.
Current new signings Jess Lea from Trojans and Tara Daly-Clifton along with goalkeeper Jana Pacyna from Cardiff Metropolitan University have been fully involved in pre-season training and the whole squad should be well prepared to start the league season on 29th Sept with an away trip to Reading.
The Spartans first home match is on 6th Oct and will be played at W.I.S due to uncertainties about the availability of a suitable pitch at KGV.
