History
The Swansea Magpies were formed in 2007 as one of the founding members of the Welsh Australian Rules Football League. After a difficult first season the Magpies finished a respectable 3rd, although failed to win a game. 2009 saw a new team take to field with a fresh and enthusiastic group of players that finished the season strongly and won a place in the grand final, itself a controversial affair. After a long and very even match, the scores were found to be 2 points in favour of the South Cardiff Panthers (after a recount).
The 2010 season looks like it will be an even bigger and better season than before, with the inclusion of a new club in Barry bringing the league to 5 clubs in total.
