On Saturday, The Brewers play Morpeth Town of the Northern League Division 1 in the 2nd Round of the F.A. Vase.

Match Preview : Tadcaster Albion v Morpeth Town, F.A Vase 2nd Round, 22nd November 2014.

For one of these teams, the big day out at Wembley Stadium in early May 2015 is just 6 wins away. 128 teams are playing in The F.A. Vase this weekend.

This season, Morpeth Town are in 11th place in the Northern League Division 1 with 29 points from 22 games played. They won their last league game 2-0 away at Billingham Synthonia. This was their 2nd league win in the last 13 league games played. On Wednesday evening, 2 goals from Michael Chilton and 1 from Buzzeo gave Morpeth Town a 3-2 extra time win at home to fellow Northern League team West Allotment Celtic in the Quarter Final of the Northumberland Senior Cup in monsoon conditions.

The Highwaymen average around 170 for home league games. Last season, they finished the league in 17th place, the league champions were Spennymoor Town who knocked The Brewers out of the F.A. Cup at Tadcaster 2-0 back in August. 2 weeks ago, Keith Graydon who played for Spennymoor Town in this game, joined Morpeth Town.

In the last few seasons of the F.A. Vase, The Brewers lost at the first attempt 4-1 at Birtley Town and 3-2 at Esh Winning, but this season they won 3-2 at Winsford United in the 1st round of the Vase. This is Morpeth's first Vase game of the season. Last season, Morpeth Town had a great run in the Vase when they reached the 5th round before going out 6-1 at Eastbourne United in February. In 2012-13, they went out in the 2nd round 1-0 away at Winsford United.

I will predict another hard fought game like we had last weekend and I will go for a 2-1 win for Tadcaster Albion. Please come along on Saturday to support the boys if you can.

Up The Brewers (The Fox)

Keith Handley.
