Portsmouth RFC Colts vs Tadley RFC Colts
Solid all round performance for Tadley win
Match Report - Mark Kan
Portsmouth 5 - 22 Tadley Colts
Both teams confident coming off the back of wins, Portsmouth beating Tottonians 15-5, Tadley edging Petersfield.
However, Tadley were short of players, having to borrow a prop and a winger to have a full 15 only (no subs).
Despite Tigers bright start, it was Portsmouth who drew early blood with a Forwards try by their big pack leading 5-0.
Tadley hit back with a quality try from Fly half Charlie Lutterlock. A class chip over the rushing defence and winning the foot race to gather the bounce and go over,
Before half time Charlie L punished Portsmouth again with the same move, chip and chase to take Tadley in at the half time break at 5-14.
The second half was an all round better performance by the Tigers. The Forwards taking the game to the opposition and breaking through and making yards at each drive. Likewise, the Backs sensing they had the edge over their opposite numbers and running at and through them with regularity now. The territory and pressure finally paid off following another Forwards surge, quick ball allowing Calum Collington to step into the attacking Back line, find the gap and go over, 5-19.
Similar pressure forcing the next penalty taken by Charlie L to put Tadley in an unassailable position 5-22 to manage and see out the game, despite dropping to 13 men versus 14 at the end.
Another solid all round performance, with a particularly dominant second half. But for a bit more composure and quality of final pass, Tadley could have added at least three more tries.
Well done lads !
