Staffordshire U16 players at Wellington Festival

TRUFC U16's Player Kit Smith lines up with 7 other talented young men from the Staffordshire County who represented Leicester Tigers U16 Academy at the Wellington Festival.

The week-long programme is held annually at Wellington College, Berkshire and aims to develop both academy players and coaches on and off the field in a variety of areas.

On the field, the academy teams will train and play against each other in a number of matches, challenged with law variations which will encourage ball in play, skilful rugby.

Off the field, players will also be given education and guidance in the following areas: nutrition, anti-doping and professional sports pressures.

Wellington Festival is the largest academy festival in English rugby and is seen as a key experience in a players’ development and transitional experience with 420 players from the 14 regional academies taking part.

Rugby Academies: Bath Rugby, Bristol Rugby, Exeter Chiefs, Gloucester Rugby, Harlequins, Leicester Tigers, London Irish, Newcastle Falcons, Northampton Saints, Sale Sharks, Saracens, Wasps, Worcester Warriors, Yorkshire Carnegie.

The Players are Left to Right ;- Harrison Casey, Daniel Brough, Kit Smith, Jack Gosling, Lynx Noumey, Sullivan Nicely, Oscar Smith-Canham and Jamie Shaw.
