AGM was held on Wednesday 25th October at Rumbush Lane.

Dear All,

Last night’s AGM was attended by a fairly low number of club stalwarts. We discussed a number of topics, high on the list was the news that in addition to the square at Tanworth having recently had nearly £5k spent on it and the £1k for Olly Hill to give the conifers at the back of the pavilion a good chop we have agreed around £8k for new electrics, a new ceiling, new kitchen, re-boarding of the floor, new floor coverings and the club house area to be painted. We have established a rental income around £12k from Rumbush Lane for next year plus we are getting enquiries for social functions where we have significant opportunity to make profit. This is money we have earned from events or donations and is a proper statement that we mean to make our club somewhere to be proud of.

The committee did some research around local clubs during the season on annual subs. We are the cheapest by a distance. Mike Shaw has put a business plan together where the subs need to be £100 per annum for senior members and £50 for students. Junior subs will remain the same, This was voted in last night.

We asked for volunteers for next year to work on the ground and it was agreed last night a list of jobs will be written and a rota given out so players take a more active role in the upkeep. We have had a problem with rubbish and waste so we are now paying £500 per annum for skips to help with the waste. This is money that has to be generated hence increasing subs etc.

Several people currently pay their subs monthly, if anyone wishes to set up a direct debit the bank details are sort code 40-26-22 and account number 31284355. £12.50 a month sees full payment by June for next year starting in November.

The team Captains from this year have agreed to stand again. We also intend to have 6-8 Sunday fixtures where we hope to introduce some of the juniors into senior cricket with the ambition of re-establishing a 3rd team within the next couple of years. We have decided to withdraw from the midweek 20/20 this year.

We are having a New Year Eve Party at Rumbush Lane – please try and support us, Pete Patel is doing the food and cost is £10pp. We are also looking at doing Sunday Lunch on December 17th – more details to follow.

The overall message to all was the need to support more events and to offer a min of 2hours to help at the ground once a season.

Regards

Pete Carey
