Opening Bowler Looking Forward to 2017 Season

The club is delighted to announce the signing of young prospect Andy Styan.
With the losses of Phil Johnson and Ben Gibbon for the upcoming season, Andy will spearhead the attack. We recently conducted a quick Q and A with him to let you all know a little bit about him…

Age: 23
Previous Clubs: Barwick in Elmet (Wetherby League), Saxon u17s
Playing Profile: Right Hand Bat/Right Arm Medium Fast

Favourite Current Player: Joe Root
Favourite Player Ever: There can only be one – Freddie Flintoff!
Role Models: Glenn McGrath, my dad and Dale Steyn
One to watch: Tom Helm

Perfect Teas: Cheese and onion sandwiches, also can’t beat scones with jam and cream!
Best Sledge: I once had a batsman dance down a few times missing each ball, next time I clean bowled him middle stump! I pointed to the pavilion and said “Keep dancing that way”!

Ambitions for 2017: To hopefully push to being an opening bowler going for very few runs like I did in my old league, but taking lots of wickets! Also develop my batting further and possibly push to impress Cheshire (why not aim high!)
Welcome aboard Andy, we’re sure you’ll love every minute of playing for Tattenhall CC!
