Tattenhall 3rd XI batted first against Caldy in a 40 over game at the Flacca.
Max Harper and Dane Tinsley opened and put together a superb stand of 214 to bat into the last over and set what we think is a Club record in the process.
Max had most of the luck with chances dropped but punished anything short or wide and the running was particularly good until his Saturday night caught up with him and left him requiring treatment on the pitch at drinks break.
Dane batted more carefully and apart from some impatience in the 70's looked on course for a well deserved century before holing out to mid on just two runs shy. It looks as though there will be plenty more to come from both of them. Proud father Graham arrived just in time to see Max get his ton and was despatched to take the celebration photo in front of the new scoreboard, now duly uploaded with thanks.
Caldy were tied down by good bowling from Steve White and Ethan Evans, backed up by good spells from Louis Clark and Dylan Moore. They looked to conserve wickets but only late hitting out got them up to 150-4 still 65 runs short of the target for a drawn match but one to remember for the two opening batsmen and their Club record partnership. Well done to both players and more of the same please.
