Nigel played for Taunton in the 60's and 70's and latterly had been living in Oswestry, Shropshire where he had been teaching. He can be seen in this Colts photograph of 1966/67
Our condolences go out to wife Pat and family and friends at this sad time.
Here is an update, posted by son Dave on the Oswestry RFC FB page coupled with comments from their club Chairman.
It is with great sadness that we have to tell you that on Tuesday 7th March 2017 my Dad Nigel Keighley sadly passed away. Dad was out in Spain with mum and friends walking when an unfortunate and freak accident happened and he slid off the edge of a cliff.
Since his accident on February 10th he had been in a coma and though he put up a great fight unfortunately this was a battle he just couldn't win.
We would like to thank friends from all over the world for their support and good wishes over the last few weeks it really has shown what a great group of friends and family we have and how much dad was thought off and had impacted so many people’s lives. So much of this support has come from the Rugby community that meant so much to him from his long association with ORUFC and fittingly dad’s wake will be held at the club.
Dates are being organised for his funeral and I will push it out once it has been confirmed. Thanks for all your support and we look forward to celebrating Nige's life and sharing some of the many stories with you all soon. Pat, Sarah, Dave, Brody & Amy.

Nigel was one of the great founder members of our Club and was a major inspiration for me and many others to take up the game. He was a fantastic Player, Captain, Coach and Vice President and my hero, he will be sadly missed by all.
