Colts narrowly lose Cup Final
Beaten but not bowed!
Taunton Colts played their final game of the season yesterday and narrowly lost the Somerset Cup Final to Weston Hornets. Taunton started slowly and quite understandably couldn't find their rhythm during the early exchanges. As a result they went behind quickly to two well worked moves by Weston both resulting in tries. Just before half time Taunton struck back with a converted try and started to look dangerous.
In the second half the boys began to play decent rugby outplaying their opponents for much of the game. As a result the score was tied at 17-17 with only a minute to go when a bouncing kick through evaded all except the Weston winger who went on to score in the corner. The final whistle blew when the conversion was missed.
It has been a fabulous season for the Squad, winning the Somerset U18 League Title and only just losing in the Final of the Somerset Cup. All concerned have been a credit to the Club and showcased Taunton Rugby at it's finest.
