We've done it!!! Building hand over achieved, snagging on-going and to be completed in time for the new season

Fantastic news: the new clubhouse is complete and we have had Building Control approval in time for the new season. If you haven't seen our new clubhouse, you just wouldn't believe the transformation. Its absolutely nothing like the Old Shed!! This week I even heard some U11s positively commenting on the new kitchen - when have you ever heard a 10 year old speak about a kitchen before !??

To remind you we have completed 3 of 5 phases:

Phase 1 - Construction of a new extension which will contain the bar, club-room, kitchen, cold room, plant room and store. Upgrading of external drainage, sewers and utilities.

Phase 2 - Conversion of the old social area, kitchen, bar and toilets into of 2 RFU compliant changing rooms with toilets and showers, plus construction of new male & female toilets, disabled toilet, Main entrance, hallway and disabled access ramp

Phase 3 - Refurbishment of the remainder of the existing changing rooms and showers, construction of referees/umpires changing room, physio suite and the replacement of roof and external cladding to the whole building. Plus laying of new paths, ramp, hard-standings and delivery area. Construction of external storage bins

We still have 2 phases of work to do, funding dependent:

Phase 4 - Outside landscaping & fencing and replacement of damaged tarmac and cricket outfield

Phase 5 - The construction of two new wooden buildings housing the club shop and rugby club store in one and the groundsmans equipment and cricket club store in the other.

The Cricket club have had access to the bar for some time, but it will be 'rugby-fied' next weekend for the beginning of the season. Lots of memorabilia, but also lots of style, a lovely bar, AV that works, and a whole new way of doing catering, tuck shop etc. So why not pop in next weekend and have a look?
