Raiders Continue 100% League Form despite tough outing
Raiders still hold unbeaten record
It was a warm and dry day for the Raiders to continue their undefeated league record. The raiders started the game full of confidence against a strong Bulldogs team, and the opening exchanges showed that Telford although the dominance in possession were not in for an easy game. At the 30 minute mark with the score still at 0-0 Ben West
found room to put an inside ball on to put the raiders 6-0 ahead. With the first half closing out Birmingham ran the Telford defence too far and went over straight from a scrum in the Telford half. For most of the second half it was score for score, with the bulldogs penning back the raiders every time they went ahead until Nick Belshaw
picked up a offload to find Nathan Parker
with 10m to go with the forward powering over the dog legged defence. In the final moments the team were tested again with the bulldogs applying strenuous pressure, but courage tackles made sure the raiders stayed ahead when it mattered.
put the bulldogs to the sword missing only one conversation and Emlyn Archer
with hard running making sure that the raiders continued their 100% league record. The raiders run the game out with a 34-16 victory putting them in firm place to take the Midlands south title. It's a long road ahead but with a win against all 3 division rivals it's difficult to count the team out of a wipeout season. Although raiders have a tough schedule ahead the confidence is high in the camp. A friendly next week will test the raiders post regular season chances and the following week will determine their league record again and the opportunity of walking away from an almost debut season as divisional champions.
