TENBURY head coach Andy Black is hoping that his players can hit the ground running after more than a month without a league game.
The last Midlands Four West (South) action for the Penlu club saw them lose 32-14 to fellow strugglers Redditch – and that was back at the end of November.
“It has been a long break with games being cancelled and postponed because of the weather,” Black said.
“I know a few of the lads had a run out on Boxing Day in a game at Clee Hill but it will be good to get back to the league.”
Tenbury’s return to action will be a tough test though with a trip to league high-fliers Burbage who won the corresponding fixture in Leicestershire at the start of the season when a Claude Celton try and a penalty and conversion from Ed Gough made up the visitors tally in a 35-10 defeat.
“We can bleat and moan about where we are but we need to pull together over the coming few months and pull ourselves away from the foot of the table," added Black.
The head coach had a depleted squad in the final few months of 2017 but is looking forward to having key players to call on again starting with this weekend’s trip to the East Midlands.
“Back row Ben James is available again and we also have Charlie Ayres back at prop,” the head coach said.
