A roundup of all the midweek action
There was a real mixture of matches this midweek, with League, Floodlit cup and County Cups all on the menu.
Tuesday night saw Harworth Colliery progress in the Phoenix Trophies Floodlit Cup with a last minute winner against Collingham at Scrooby Road. Jake Newton opened the scoring for Collingham, Tom Pick equalising close to half time. The home side took the lead through Ryan Paczkowski, Newton getting his second with twenty minutes remaining. As extra time loomed, Harworth clinched the tie, Greg Fox putting the ball in the net from close range with a minute to play.
An all CML tie in the Derbyshire FA Senior Cup pitted Clay Cross Town against Pinxton at Mill Lane. The North division side won through by five goals to two with goals from Lee Clay (2), Adam Plant, Joel Holland and Aiden Ordidge, Pete Stubley and Chris Elson scoring for Pinxton.
Holbrook Sports Reserves went down 4-2 at home to FC Kilburn in the Derbyshire FS Divisional Cup South.
Wednesday night brought the first adverse weather of the season with matches at Tideswell and Dinnington falling foul of the conditions.
FC Bolsover met Dronfield Town Reserves in the Black Dragon Badges North division and increased their lead at the top of the table to six points after a 5-1 win. The division’s leading scorer Josh Parfitt scored twice for Bolsover, with the other goals coming from Ryan Cancellara, Lewis Warwick and Jack Hutchinson, Danny Major replying for Dronfield.
Eastwood Community reached the third round of the Notts FA Senior Cup with a 4-3 defeat of former CML side Ollerton Town. Harry Allen opened the scoring after 13 minutes, but Ollerton soon equalised and were ahead by half time. Rory Smith put Eastwood level fifteen minutes from time, and further goals in the last five minutes by Paddy Webb and Allen saw Eastwood through, though Ollerton did score a late third goal.
In the Notts FA Intermediate Cup, Hucknall Town Reserves went through 4-3 on penalties after drawing 1-1 with Greenwood FC.
