Ashfield District Council, the local MP, Councillors and even pleas to the leaders of all the major parties and the Sports Minister failed in a bid by members of the Football Club trying to stop the process to ensure that best was being done for the community as a whole.
We would like to thank everyone who signed our e-petition, but this has been ignored with the Trustee's now having incurred a debt in the region of £200,000 with no new income stream yet identified to clear this, which was part of a the rsolution the local authority put in place and one of the reason behind our public appeal.
We can only speak for the Football Club, but we will do our best to ensure that this Community Asset stays as just that, but clearly the major income facility is now in the process of being demolished. Hopefully improved communication can be installed and the Trustees and users of the site can work as one.
Again thank you to those who have and continue to support our plight in these uncertain times.
One thing the Football Club want to make clear is that these off field issues do not and will not impact on the football side of the club from the Tots right through to the Seniors.
