Teversal FC was informed yesterday by the Steve Clark the FA Competitions Manager that their application to play in the World famous competition...

...had been unsuccessful.

Steve wrote “Your Club’s application to enter the above competition has recently been considered by The FA Challenge Cup Committee and, unfortunately, could not be accepted.

As the Competition is oversubscribed, applications from Clubs at the lowest level of entry, which is Step 6 of The FA National League System, had to be considered based on the points per game achieved at that level in Season 2013-2014”.

Chris Darnell also of the FA Competitions department confirmed today that the lowest points per game that has gained entry from Step 6 is 1.45 from last season's league campaign. The Tevie Boys therefore failing by .26 at 1.19 points per game for the 2013/14 campaign. In real terms it meant a further 11 points over the season was required. Out of interest that means only teams in the top ten of the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One are eligible if they have a ground grading and applied to join the competition.

Overall it is a big disappointment for the club that has now paid the price for the uncertainty of having three Managers over a season, something the Nottinghamshire based club will hope doesn't happen again.

This disappointment will hopefully soon disappear and full focus will see a record breaking season in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One, FA Vase, League Cup and Notts Senior Cup even with the Charter Standard club continuing to work within its aims and means to the benefit of all its members.
