A round up of this weekend's youth football action involving Teversal FC.

Saturday 2nd December: Both of our teams remaining in the quarter finals of the Notts FA Youth Shields bowed out of the competition at the weekend as both teams faced strong sides in Mansfield Town Youth, who play at a much higher level of youth football, and the young Stags didn't take it easy on our teams.
The Under 15s, playing at Stamper Crescent, were beaten 8-1, with Leon Turton scoring the lone Teversal goal.
The Under 13s were dealt a far bigger blow, firstly Quarrydale Academy contacted the club to say that their pitches were unplayable on Saturday so the side reversed the fixture and then they were on the wrong end of an 18-0 drubbing. This was the Under 13s third game in the competition, so they cannot really complain against the high scoreline of the game, especially when in the last two rounds they won 10-0 and 19-4.
Back in league action, the Under 18s played hosts to Blidworth Welfare at Calladine Park, and a 4-1 half time lead was turned into an 8-4 victory to give the side their fifth successive league win. The Ashby twins were on the mark again with five of the goals - two for Callum and a hattrick for Kelton. Ben Wyatt grabbed a brace with Stephen Bright with the other goal.

The Under 16s also picked up three points with a 6-2 win over in Mapperley where they played Sherwood FC Yellow. An hattrick from Spencer Candlin and goals by Brandon Bradbury, Morgan Rogers and Connor Deakin helped them to the win. Coach Rickie Brunt said that he was "over the moon with the boys' performance", and that "the team had got the rewards for all their hard work".
In the Young Elizabethan League, the Under 12s also reversed their fixture from Quarrydale and travelled to Fernwood Foxes in Newark. Coach Nick Briggs writes, "A late change of venue didn’t hinder the side's performance. They raced into a three goal lead, Kian Jelley with two more to his impressive season's total and another from Josh Baldwin. Fernwood fought back with two quick goals as we made numerous changes. Teversal quickly added a fourth through Ashton Ward to lead 4-2 at half time. The second half had Fernwood's keeper on top as he foiled debutant Ethan Chaplin on no fewer than four occasions. Fernwood did pull a late goal back but the Tevie Boys held on to win 4-3 and with one game left to play Teversal can win the title if Borrowash fail to win their last game. Also a big 'thank you' to all that observed a minute's silence for my sister Rachel who recently passed away. Impeccably observed".
The Under 11s travelled to Long Eaton United Green in the YEL Trophy but they lost out by the odd goal in three. The game was 0-0 at full time but despite a goal from Joshua Martinez, the home side managed to find two from Harry Osborn to take them through to the next round.
Due to a frozen pitch at Carnarvon Street the Under 7s reversed their fixture and travelled , yet again, to West Bridgford (as they did last week). This time around though they came away with an 8-1 victory. Bec Williams writes, "Saturday's goalscorers were Alfie Hall, Connor Hall, Sam Lynk, Charlie Overton and Dexter Roe (with an amazing free kick!). Dexter also hit the cross bar and Cole Williams had a shot that went wide of the goal, and also had one goal not given. Alfie, Connor and Sam shared the role of goalkeeper on the day and all three did exceptionally well. The players were rotated every five minutes in order to keep them warm in the freezing conditions."

Sunday 3rd December: The Under 14s travelled to to play Ilkeston FC Juniors Robins in the YEL Sunday Trophy. However the side bowed out of the competition by the odd goal in a nine goal thriller. Elliot Hardy scored a brace along with goals from Leo Caygill and Charlie Preston, but despite their best efforts they suffered the heartache of a defeat.
The Under 12s were also in YEL Trophy action on Healdswood Recreation Ground and secured a 3-2 win against Woodhouse Colts Red Devils. Kyle Saulter, Corey Hallam and Mitch Turner were all on target for the Tevie Boys as they go through to the next round.
The Under 10s were on the road to Cotgrave Blue, but they narrowly lost out 3-2 to the home side. The Teversal goals coming from Anthony Oladejo and Gabriel Kara.
The Under 8s succumbed to their third successive defeat at the weekend as they travelled to face Carlton Town Leopards, with the home side hitting six without reply from the Tevie Boys (and girl!).
The Under 7s were at home to Bulwell Athletic Rockets with the Carnarvon Street mini pitch having thawed sufficiently to stage the game. But unfortunately it was the Rockets who soared high winning the game 3-2. The goals for Teversal were scored by Rio Naylor and Alfie Brack.
