Fourteen of the 29 Toolstation NCEL sides who were in FA Cup action this weekend booked their places in the Preliminary Round of the competition...

...whilst a further four will have another chance to join them in replays in midweek.

Heanor Town got the ball rolling on Friday with a single-goal victory at home to former NCEL side Long Eaton United, Gary Ricketts with the early strike to send them through in front of a crowd of 368.

And, there were 371 at Inkersall Road to watch Staveley Miners Welfare knock out league rivals Worksop Town, the hosts finding the net twice in quick succession in the second half through Ellis Wall and Jordan Eagers.

The biggest winners on Saturday were Barton Town Old Boys who thumped visitors Abbey Hey, 7-0, Scott Phillips getting four of their goals whilst Gareth Barlow, Joel Sutton and Nathan Smith also added their names to the scoresheet.

There was a hat-trick for Sam Smith in Handsworth Parramore's 5-1 win at home to Oadby Town and there were also three goals for Carl Stewart as Tadcaster Albion dispatched Barnoldswick Town, 5-0, at the i2i Stadium.

Bradley McKay grabbed a brace for Winterton Rangers in their 3-2 victory at Alsager Town, Cleethorpes Town were comfortable 4-1 home winners over Borrowash Victoria and Clipstone are through after they beat Harrowby United, 2-0, at the Worksop Van Hire Stadium.

Knaresborough Town came from behind to win 2-1 at Glasshoughton Welfare whilst Albion Sports also progressed at the expense of fellow NCEL opposition by the same scoreline at Thackley, Daniel Facey getting both of their goals.

Jason Davis also struck twice in Garforth Town's 2-1 victory at Newton Aycliffe, a feat copied by Maltby Main at Winsford United and Athersley Recreation's Lee Bennett scored the only goal of their game to knock-out hosts Wigan Robin Park.

Bridlington Town will replay after a 1-1 home draw with Whitley Bay, Chris Adams getting the Seasiders a 65th minute equaliser, Joe Lumsden rescued Armthorpe Welfare as they held hosts Guisborough Town also to a 1-1 draw, Retford United finished 2-2 at home to Stapenhill as did Shirebrook Town who conceded twice in the last six minutes in their match with Loughborough University at Langwith Road.

The teams that bowed out to non-NCEL opposition on Saturday were Bottesford Town, Eccleshill United, Lincoln Moorlands Railway, Liversedge, Nostell Mines Welfare, Parkgate and Pontefract Collieries.

In the two Extra Preliminary Round games played on Sunday, AFC Emley went through, 2-1 at home to Ashton Athletic, Max Leonard and Reuben Jerome netting early in the second period before a Sam Jerome own goal halved the deficit for the visitors.

Pickering Town, however, had an afternoon to forget as they were beaten 6-0 by visitors Washington.

In Saturday's six Division One games, Louth Town and Selby Town made it two wins out of two with home victories.

Jamie Coulson's 52nd minute strike was enough for Louth as they beat Grimsby Borough by a single goal and Selby's 3-0 win over Penistone Church came about through a Daniel Gray double and an injury time strike from Ryan Robinson.

There were first points on the board for AFC Mansfield and Worsbrough Bridge Athletic who both posted big wins on their travels.

Carl Haslam scored two and there were also goals for Phil Buxton, Chris Timons, Dean Rick and Darren Bettison in Mansfield's 6-0 victory at Hall Road Rangers and Brad Kerr claimed a hat-trick for Worsbrough as they won 5-1 at Teversal.

Harrison Blakey got both of Yorkshire Amateur's goals as they beat visitors Rossington Main, 2-1, and there was a 4-2 victory for Hemsworth Miners Welfare at Dronfield Town, two goals in the last ten minutes from Nicholas Guest claiming all three points for them.
