Waterlogged pitches made way for frozen surfaces as the Toolstation NCEL fixture list was once again disrupted on Saturday.

Five Premier Division matches and six Division One games did go ahead, however, as things at least start to hot up in the battle for promotion and against relegation.

Only five points separate the leading five sides in the top flight with Worksop Town remaining on the summit, ahead of Bridlington Town on goal difference as both won their latest matches.

A Kyle Jordan hat-trick took him to the top of the Premier Division scoring charts with 26 in all competitions after Conor Higginson had given Worksop a first half lead as the Tigers defeated struggling hosts Parkgate, 4-0.

And, a late penalty from Andy Norfolk saw Bridlington Town overcome eighth-placed Clipstone, 2-1, after Edward Birch's opening minute strike for the home side had been quickly cancelled out by a James Hitchcock own goal.

Handsworth Parramore and Cleethorpes Town both leapfrogged over Tadcaster Albion into third and fourth, respectively, with victories of their own.

Jon Froggatt struck twice and Kieran Wells also got on the scoresheet as Parramore came from behind to beat visitors Retford United, 3-1, Jon Roper breaking the deadlock for the Badgers in the 34th minute.

And, Cleethopes also conceded first, Lynton Karkach netting for Maltby Main early on, but the home side would eventually canter to a 5-1 victory with first half goals from Marc Cooper, Daniel Trott, Jonathan Oglesby and Luke Mascall added to after the interval by Alex Flett.

Meanwhile, Liversedge remain at the bottom of the table as a Kieran Watson hat-trick condemned them to a 3-1 loss at Staveley Miners Welfare.

Hemsworth Miners Welfare are now six points clear at the top of Division One after two late goals from Nicholas Guest snatched them a 3-2 home win over Grimsby Borough who must have thought they had taken the points courtesy of a Jamie Coulson double.

Second-placed AFC Mansfield lost ground as they were beaten 1-0 at local rivals Teversal, the home side climbing to eleventh after Jason Dawson's third-minute strike. [MATCH REPORT : CLICK HERE]

Shirebrook Town jump over Bottesford Town into fifth after beating them at Birch Park, a Cameron Houson own goal and Jack Hargreaves strike putting them two goals up before Leigh Hutchinson pulled one back for the hosts on 39 minutes and Josh Gibson secured the 3-1 victory midway through the second period.

An Oliver Fearon hat-trick helped Penistone Church to a 6-1 home victory over Worsbrough Bridge Athletic to lift them up into seventh spot.

Worsbrough, meanwhile, drop back into the relegation zone, replacing Winterton Rangers who defeated visitors Eccleshill United with Robbie Start getting two of their goals.

And, Glasshoughton Welfare pulled themselves further away from the bottom two as they won 3-1 at Rossington Main, Ashley Scothern and Luke Durham with the strikes that ultimately sealed the victory.
