Midweek Action from 19th September.

AYLESTONE PARK slipped up in the title race in midweek when newly promoted SELSTON returned home from their latest trip into Leicestershire with all three points courtesy of Ben Moore’s 77th minute goal.
DUNKIRK staged a dramatic come-back having gone three goals behind to visiting HOLBROOK SPORTS, but they ended up short in the end. The Brookies are really enjoying life at the moment and had Josh Williams to thank for the points for his hat-trick. Williams opened the scoring after just three minutes, and two minutes later had doubled both his and his team’s tally. His hat-trick was completed three minutes into the second half and it looked like the Derbyshire side were well on track for all three points. The Boatmen had other ideas though and Oliver Robinson pulled a goal back on 51 minutes and Steve Chaplin made it even closer on the hour. Thrilling though the game was there the scoring ended leaving Holbrook to move up into second place in the table and seemingly brimming with confidence ready to take on Midland League strugglers Quorn at Shaw Lane in the Buildbase FA Vase on Saturday.
There was a come-back at Cropston Road as well as the lead changed hands twice in another thrilling encounter. Jordon McCourt put visiting ASHBY IVANHOE ahead after twenty minutes and this started a goal rush as Tom Mangan levelled the scores just a minute later. Sam Marshall put hosts ANSTEY NOMADS ahead on 24 minutes and Jack Lowe increased their lead eight minutes later. There was no further change to the scoring until fifteen minutes from the end when Angus Blair-Park narrowed the gap, but the game stayed poised at 3-2 right up to the end.
The only other midweek game saw RADFORD and BELPER UNITED battle out a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Street On-Call Arena.
