A roundup of the midweek action in the CMFL.

There were just six fixtures this midweek, with two matches played in the North division and four in Division One.

A 62nd minute penalty from Tom Wilson was all that separated Appleby Frodingham and Thorne Colliery sat Brumby Hall on Tuesday night, giving the Scunthorpe side their second clean sheet of the season.
Staveley Reserves made their debut on Wednesday night and got off to a winning start by beating Phoenix 2-0 at Brinsworth. Both goals came in the first half, Mick Davies getting one, the other an own goal although Phoenix can consider themselves unlucky to have come away with nothing to show for their efforts.

Wirksworth Town look to be finding life in the Central Midlands to their liking. They are the early leaders in Division One after their third successive win, this one a 4-0 victory at Retford United. Josh Middleton scored his second hat trick in three days for Wirksworth with Ryan Marchington also finding the net.
The Holbrook derby resulted in a 1-0 win for Sports over St Michaels, the decisive goal coming five minutes from time from Ben Wallace.
Heanor Town got their season under way, going down 3-1 to Hucknall Town at the Town Ground. Aaron Evans put the visitors ahead on 18 minutes, Adam Nelson doubling the score with 35 minutes played. Ollie Naylor reduced the deficit on the hour but from the restart Adam Whitemore delivered the killer blow.
A better scoreline but still no reward for Cromford who fell to a Henry Brooks goal at home to Swanwick.
