Hucknall Town dropped their first points of the season in the Black Dragon Badges South division as they came from behind to rescue a draw with a youthful Matlock Town Reserves at Watnall Road. Goals from Declan Sorrell in the 16th minute and Billy Whitehead four minutes from half time put the Young Gladiators in the driving seat but Hucknall recovered to claim a point through Jordan Phillips on 50 minutes and Dave Leak fifteen minutes from time.
Pinxton made it two wins from two with a 3-1 defeat of Blidworth Welfare. Pete Stubley’s 12th minute opener for the home side was wiped out by Aiden Harris but Jay Cooper restored the lead by half time before making sure of the points in the 70th minute.
After a sticky start to the season, Holbrook St Michaels chalked up their first points with a 3-1 win at AFC Kilburn. Goals from Steve Levy, Sam Williamson and Sam Chambers did the trick, Ryan Fitzhugh scoring for Kilburn.
Mickleover RBL had a notable win at Swanwick coming out on top by the odd goal in seven. Scorers for the Legion were Jason North, Tom Leighton, Rob Fretwell and Abidemi Lamina with the Swans’ reply coming from Shane Buckerfield, Guy Wilding and Henry Brooks.
The points were shared at Elkesley Road between Welbeck Lions and Underwood Villa. Dan Murdock put the Lions ahead on 28 minutes, but the lead was short lived as Sam Taylor and Joe Welsh quickly put the Villa in front. Fraser Allerton rescued a point for the hosts with fifteen minutes remaining.

Renishaw Rangers’ winning start to the season was halted by a spirited second half performance by Retford at The Rail. The first half was very even, Jack Johnson’s 35th minute opener for the Choughs being swiftly answered by Aiden McTighe. After the interval Retford stepped up the pace with Gaz Davies restoring the lead on 52 minutes, sub Declan Heath adding a third midway through the half and Josh Robson and Davies completing Retford’s scoring within a minute of each other. Owen Ryan got one back for Renishaw two minutes from time.
A double from Josh Street set AFC Bentley on the way to maximum points against Appleby Frodingham despite playing the last half hour with ten men. Street struck in the 35th and 63rd minutes with Shaun Mundy supplying the third ten minutes from time.
Tideswell United compounded Newark Town’s disappointing start to the season with a 5-1 win. Tideswell were three up at the break and added two more in the second half, the goals coming from Jack Bradbury and Ben Maskrey who got two each, Luke Lindley also scoring. Thomas Johnson got a consolation goal for Newark in the final minute.
Retford United had a narrow 2-1 win at Staveley Reserves. After Retford had missed an early penalty, the home side went in front with a Joe Pugh goal on 52 minutes. Retford equalised immediately through Jimmy Eyles, who also got the clincher midway through the half.
A single Josh Taylor goal was enough to give Askern their second win of the season, this time at the expense of Dinnington Town.
The first draw of the season in the North division came at Moorends where Thorne Colliery and Dronfield Town Reserves finished all square at 2-2. Scorers for Thorne were Kyle Palmer and Kirk Frost, Jordan Willis getting both for Dronfield.

Crowle Colts are the very early leaders of the Macron Store Stoke Division One North following a 5-2 defeat of Welbeck Lions reserves. Tom Finnigan and Danny Smyth both struck twice with Adam Hearn also on the scoresheet, while Aaron Darch and Daniel Childs were on target for the Lions.
Sutton Rovers spoiled Nottingham’s debut with a 3-1 win at Manor Way. Adrian Parker opened the scoring on 18 minutes, Mitchell Wain getting a second three minutes from half time. Although Mo Syah pulled a goal back for the visitors on 75 minutes, Callum Stockton ensured Rovers got the points a minute from time.
It was a better first game for Epworth Town Colts who beat AFC Bentley Development 3-1. Ben Carson, Billy Ball and Oliver Bradbury were Epworth’s matchwinners, Jay Jackson replying for Bentley.
Hucknall Town Reserves travelled to Shirebrook Rangers and returned with the points following a 4-1 win. Johnny Hamilton (2), James Wright and George Weatherall were among the goals for Hucknall, with Lee Crossland getting one for Shirebrook.
The match between Retford United Development and Harworth Colliery Reserves was abandoned after 55 minutes following an injury to Retford’s keeper with Harworth winning 4-0 at the time.

Division One South has made a slightly slower start with just three matches taking place. Last season’s runners up, Mickleover Sports reserves were 5-3 winners at Chesterfield Town. Lewis Belgrave, Keldon Gordon, Elijah Fatubarin, Christian Matthews and Harry Stevens all scored for Sports, James Keenan with two and Aaron Montague replying for the home side.
Cromford are still looking for their first win in the CML after going down 6-1 at home to Bakewell Town. Matthew Kelsey got two for the visitors with Jonathan Hutchinson, Al Ward, Robert Littlewood and Luke Taylor all finding the net, Dan Wildgoose the Cromford scorer.
The match between Holbrrok St Michaels Development and Heanor Town Reserves ended goalless. Heanor, however, did see a penalty saved, their sixth successive failure from the spot.
