Away Against Shirebrook Rangers (Cup Match)

It’s a wet and rough start against Shirebrook Rangers. The wet 4G pitch made for a very fast and scrappy first-half. Tevie’s determination made for some great runs on goal from Tyler N, James N and Sam H-B with super assistance from midfields Josh B, Ben C, Ben T and Zakarie S. Awesome defending from Keenan V, Thomas H-B and Kieran H kept Shirebrook at bay. A great corner from James N finds Tyler N waiting in the centre of the box, Tyler N coolly brings the ball off his chest onto his foot and bang in it goes. Excellent goal, Shirebrook 0 Tevie 1. It was a tight half but the Tevie boys maintained control and with some amazing saves from Josh E the boys close the half nicely, Shirebrook Rangers 0 Tevie 1.

The second-half was much the same as the first with loads of ups and downs all over the pitch as the teams struggle with the wet and fast pitch. In midfield Ben T spots the ball heading his way and with excellent control brings it into play. Ben T sees that the goal keeper is off his line so calmly smacks the ball over his head and in it goes. Nice one! Shirebrook 0 Tevie 2. From here on in the play and the decisions do not go Tevie’s way so the boys fall behind. Shirebrook 3 Tevie 2. As the half comes to a close Shirebrook are yet again awarded a free kick from nowhere and manage to find the net. Shirebrook 4 Tevie 2.

A bad pitch, rotten weather and poor official decisions make for a disappointing end after such a promising start to the game.
